Helpful Hints for Domestic Moving

We have compiled these notes to answer some of the questions we are frequently asked and to help you on the day we move house for you. By following these notes you will also be helping us on the day of your move.


Packing Materials

If you have chosen to pack your own belongings please ensure that you use substantial cartons and that the bottom of the cartons are securely taped to avoid the contents dropping out during handling. We can supply suitable cartons in various sizes, together with all the other packing materials required to protect your belongings. Make sure you label all cartons so that our porters know in which room to place them at your new home (and so that you can find that item you need when you have just moved in ) .


Self-Assembly Furniture

If you have any self-assembly furniture, please ensure that this is dismantled prior to removal day. Make sure that any loose fixings or parts are packed and labelled.


Attics and Lofts

The contents of attics and lofts should be sorted out before the day and packed as appropriate. Place the packed items in a bedroom or other room so that our porters can assess the amount to be loaded into the pantechnicon .


Personal Papers

If your belongings are to be moved into store, please make sure that all personal papers and documents are kept by yourself, It is extremely difficult to retrieve documents such as passports and driving licences after the goods have been placed in store.
